ABOUT US
You are one of a kind. So are we.
Wadi Sofia International School is a private, co-educational institution established in 2002, offering kindergarten, primary, and secondary education. The school was founded by our late Allahyarham Datuk Hassan Harun, a renowned advocate for lifelong learning. Datuk Hassan’s passion for education is reflected in the numerous institutions he established, including Maktab Adabi (1970), Akademi Kenali (1974), Institut Pengajian Tinggi Adabi (1984), Institut Teknologi Tun Abdul Razak (1991), and Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (1997).
Nestled amidst lush tropical fruit trees on the outskirts of Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Wadi Sofia offers a serene and inspiring learning environment, free from urban distractions. This tranquil riverside campus is the ideal setting for students to embark on a journey of holistic education.
Our campus is thoughtfully designed to support student life and learning. Facilities include two hostels with single and twin-sharing rooms, three fields, two science laboratories, a computer lab, a resource center, a library, a multi-purpose hall, a canteen, a launderette, and a convenience store. While modest, these facilities encourage students to become resourceful, creative, and innovative individuals.
Wadi Sofia International School offers comprehensive programmes based on the Cambridge curriculum for primary and secondary students, leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). Additionally, Bahasa Melayu and Sejarah, key components of the Malaysian Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) curriculum, are provided for Form 4 and Form 5 students.
We encourage Malaysian students to take these core SPM subjects alongside their IGCSE qualifications to ensure a well-rounded academic foundation. Beyond academics, students can participate in diverse extracurricular activities, including sports and club initiatives, fostering teamwork, creativity, and leadership.
At Wadi Sofia, we believe every child is unique and gifted with the potential for success. To nurture this potential, we maintain small class sizes, allowing for personalised and supportive teacher-student interactions. This approach fosters active student participation, self-discovery, and confidence-building.
While academics and examinations are integral to our curriculum, we view them as just one part of a student’s achievements. With the guidance of our qualified, dynamic, and dedicated teachers, students are empowered to explore their interests, develop resilience, and become confident global citizens.
Wadi Sofia International School takes pride in its vibrant, multicultural community. Our students hail from over 20 countries, offering daily opportunities to learn about diverse cultures and build bonds over shared experiences. This environment helps nurture a sense of empathy, respect, and global awareness.
For many alumni, Wadi Sofia International School is fondly remembered as a “home away from home.” We take immense pride in providing a warm, supportive, and close-knit community where every child feels valued and inspired to succeed.
We invite you to join the Wadi Sofia family and explore the educational opportunities we offer. We are confident your child will thrive in our nurturing environment, building memories and skills to last a lifetime.
